Cochrane Skin Group

More about us

The five interlinking hands on the Cochrane Skin Group logo represent the five continents of the world working together through direct 'skin to skin' contacts.

The phrase 'the truth is out there' captures the Group's main purpose - to find out the truth about the effects of interventions for treating and preventing skin disease in a fair, balanced and systematic way.

The logo was adopted at the Annual Cochrane Skin Group meeting in 2000.  The logo was designed by Hywel Williams, with help from his brother John, and the Audio Visual Department at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.

For more information on the Cochrane Skin Group's background, structure and scope please see Williams H, Bigby M, Diepgen T, Herxheimer A, Naldi L, Rzany B. Evidence-Based Dermatology. Second Edition. WileyBlackwell 2008, and click here
